A superb early panel plane by WARD with screwed sides, rosewood infill and open handle and brass lever & cap screw. The plane is 14⅛" (36cm) long with a 2½" (64mm) original Ward cutter (which is very sharp) and has a Mathieson iron cap. The plane has had some restoration - a new rosewood infill under the knob (perfect fit) and a proficient repair too the leading side of the bed (see last enlarged photo below), there is also a minor hairline split around a screw hole (same photo).
